Popular online dress shop ModCloth has become the first company to sign an anti-photoshopping pledge. The Pledge asks advertisers to stop editing the “shape, size, proportion” of their images – and to be transparent if they do edit something. Given the backlash over photoshop these days, it’s rad to see ModCloth respond so proactively. Read more here

Obama taps Google executive Megan Smith to lead his technology team as our new Chief Technology Officer. Smith will “guide the Administration’s information-technology policy and initiatives.” Smith also works to bring more women into the engineering and technology fields, specifically through the WomenTechmakers program. She is the first woman to hold the role of the nation’s CTO (!!!). Read more here.
